We are a non-profit Veterans Organization, that is made up of The Legionnaires, Sons of The American Legion, Ladies Auxiliary and The Legion Riders. Our mission is to provide help and support to all veterans that are in need. In addition, we reach out to the community with donations and offer scholarships as well as volunteer help where we can.
American Red Cross Blood Services is the largest single supplier of blood and blood products in the United States. We collect and process more than 40% of the blood supply and distribute it to some 3,000 hospitals and transfusion centers nationwide. Providing life saving blood and blood products to patients is a key component of the Red Cross mission to help people in times of emergency and disasters.
We are a coop of local hand crafters that provide quality gifts to folks seasonally, opening memorial weekend through labor day. Our hours are 10am to 4pm seven days a week. We are active in our community and offer craft demos throughout the season. We are located in the former GAR (Grand Army of the Republic) Building behind Renys on the beautiful and historic depot street.We were founded by the late and very locally dedicated Eula Shorey with the vision to create teach and keep “handicraft” alive and flourishing for the generations to come. We are a charitable organization giving back to our community with each passing season. Things at BAC are ever changing and always improving with new members every year. The Mission of the Bridgton Community Center is to create and provide a supporting environment in recreation, leisure, the arts, health and community services to promote public well being and to enhance quality of life for all generations in the community. The Center is staffed Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and available at other by appointment. The Bridgton Economic Development Corporation is an established Maine-based 501(c)(3) public-benefit corporation. Our aim is to develop, strategize, encourage, and expand high-quality and sustainable business, enterprise and job creation in Bridgton, Maine. The BEDC is also actively engaged in advancing community and educational development partnerships that serve to retain and attract a skilled young labor pool to fuel the growth of new and emerging industries and markets of the 21st century.
The BEDC is committed to expanding the town’s economic base and achieving economic stability through growth and development. We seek to provide a positive, supportive climate in an effort to attract a myriad of businesses. The corporation recognizes the responsibility of maintaining a balance between development and the rural atmosphere that has made Bridgton a special place in the heart of western Maine.
Through representation on its board of directors, the BEDC is an independent and autonomous economic development organization that is comprised of Bridgton’s prime economic sectors, including: healthcare, technology, banking, manufacturing, education, public utilities, legal, tourism & hospitality, retail, environmental, cultural affairs, land development, and insurance.
The Bridgton Lions Club, formed on Nov. 4, 1926 and chartered on June 28, 1927, has been serving the Bridgton community for over 85 years. It has a rich and varied history and is always there to help those who need it the most.
The Club focuses on:
• providing Vision Screening for students at the Stevens Brook Elementary School
• sponsoring “Student of the Month” at Lake Region High School
• sponsoring multiple “Kettle Dinners” at the Bridgton Community Center
• collecting glasses and hearing aids
• providing glasses and hearing aids for those who cannot afford them
• providing medic alert devices those who cannot afford them
• supporting the Bridgton Boy Scouts for over 50 years
• supporting Lake Region High School’s “Project Graduation”
• supporting the Maine Sight & Hearing organization
• supporting the Bridgton Community Center’s Fuel Collaborative
Throughout the year the Club raises funds in diverse and fun ways:
• sales of hamburgers, hot dogs and french fries from the Club’s “Chuck Wagon” at the Bridgton Fireworks and the Maine Lakes Brew Fest
• annual “Golf Ball Drop” raffle
• annual Christmas raffle
• White Cane day fund raising – partnering with the Harrison Lions Club
• hot dogs and bean suppahs
• annual Golf Tournament

History and Mission
The Bridgton Public Library first opened in 1895, and moved to its present location in 1913, with an addition completed in 1994. The mission statement of the Strategic Plan, adopted in 2011, reads:
The Bridgton Public Library is committed to serve the community as its information center. Efforts will be directed to provide access to educational, informational and recreational materials in a friendly atmosphere. The library will be responsive to the changing needs of the community and aware of evolving technologies available to fulfill its role as a service oriented dynamic library.
Camp Sunshine’s mission is to provide a year-round retreat, support, joy and hope to children with life-threatening illnesses and their immediate families through various stages of a child’s illness. The program is free of charge to all families and includes 24-hour onsite medical and psychosocial support. Bereavement groups are also offered for families who have lost a child to an illness.
The Caswell Conservancy Center is a cultural and recreational resource dedicated to improving the quality of life for Maine’s families through education, entertainment and empowerment.
Built in 1908, the former Caswell Public Library is a distinct stone structure designed in the Romanesque Revival style and situated in the heart of Harrison’s village center. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. The Caswell Conservancy Center is a non-profit organization, funded entirely through private donations, and is offering public rentals for select rooms and spaces in the building. The facility is perfect for small gathering and will accommodate approximately 50 people. Camp Pondicherry in Bridgton is always bustling with activity. This 4 season Girl Scout property sits on 650 acres of pine forest, features a private beach on Adams Pond and a dining hall overlooking the White Mountains. Some of the features of this site include campsites with platform tents, shower house, indoor retreat options, archery range and low ropes challenge course.
Harvest Hills Animal Shelter is a non-profit organization which contracts with nineteen towns in Western Maine to accept neglected , stray and abandoned cats and dogs. These animals are brought in by the towns?animal control officers. Harvest Hills also accepts owner surrendered animals from all surrounding communities and will assist other shelters by providing a safe place for adoptable animals that would otherwise be euthanized.
JCC Camp Kingswood is a dynamic Jewish community located in the lake region of Maine at the base of the White Mountains and …one of the most diverse Jewish communities in camping. Campers join us from not only a wide variety of religious affiliations, ethnicities, and socio-economic backgrounds, but also from multiple countries including Canada, Israel, Mexico, the U.K., Uruguay, and America. Our campers come seeking an amazing summer adventure and a strong sense of Jewish identity.
We are an extremely fun and welcoming community built on communal responsibility, equality, inclusiveness and respect, with connections to Israel, Jewish ritual, and a love for nature. Our program is elective based with choices in athletics, water sports, the arts, outdoor adventure, ropes course and Judaism.
